Revive the classic

Book of Demons is a universal tale of good and evil about saving the world from total destruction and ultimate devilry! Sounds familiar? Well, how about retelling the story in a different way, with a humorous twist of a parody?

Be a part of a one-of-a-kind adventure!

One of a kind adventure

Never explore the same dungeon twice - in Book of Demons every level is a procedurally generated, randomly-populated adventure of its own! You won't get bored by the diversity of monsters either - there are over 70 kinds of creatures waiting to be slain: lurking scorpions, snake archers, mad goatmen, not-so-sexy succubi... you get the idea.

Hack & slash in the world of Paperverse!

Book of Demons is indeed a dark fantasy hack & slash, but unlike other action role-playing games, it's set in the pop-up book world of Paperverse. The paper-cut universe is one of the hallmarks of Return 2 Games - a series of mid-core games, inspired by the early golden days of PC gaming. Book of Demons is the first installment of the Return 2 Games series.

Slaying the Archdemon won't be the end of the story. In Book of Demons, you can master the campaign with 3 different classes (Warrior, Rogue or Mage), revisit your favorite quests in Freeplay mode or rise to the challenge and explore the dungeons on higher difficulty levels (the last one is called Massacre, not without good reason).

For years, the corridors underneath the Cathedral have been used for storing grain, wine and old manuscripts. But lately, the sounds of dripping water and wind howling through the empty halls have been deafened by the groans of despair and noises of bones clunking against an armor.

The Maze is now ruled by a demonic Cook who prepares meals from human flesh for his evil master. Only the bravest of all the heroes can look the creature in the eyes and not end as one of the stew ingredients.

The deepest parts of the old dungeon have been a resting place for all kind of townsfolk. From newborns to greybeards, from peasants to clergy, their remains lay motionless in the coffins.

And it would stay this way for centuries if not for the Bishop who has found the Manuscript of forbidden knowledge. Using foul magic and dark rituals he is rising the army of dead which plunders the Town and murders innocent people.

Dark rituals and corrupted magic have opened the gates of Hell and the demons world collided with the realm of the living. Wicked souls, monstrous creatures and hideous horrors hunger for fresh blood and destroy everything good that stands on their path.

They clear the way for their master - the ruler of Hell, king of the demon army. Archdemon, the darkness itself. He will never stop until he consumes all of this world, like he did with countless realms before. Is there anyone who can stop him?

Return 2 Games

What is R2G?

Return 2 Games is a series of unique mid-core games inspired by the golden days of PC gaming. There will be 7 games in total, each unique in terms of genre and theme, but all sharing the same grand vision. Each R2G title is a tribute to a single hit game from the 90’s: a reimagining of a single universal story for a brand-new audience, using modern means and innovative gameplay mechanics.

Our goal is to bring back the experiences and universal stories of those hit games and make them accessible to everyone – both casual and hardcore players. We are also simplifying and/or straight-out changing the mechanics and compressing the experience of the original games into extremely short gameplay sessions. This way the games can be enjoyed by people who don’t have much time (like grown-up fans of the classic games, or casual players accustomed to playing Angry Birds).
